You've just proven that Scotland by far subsidises the rest of the UK.

If oil from the North Sea contributes 14.1% of UK taxes, and Scotlands Territorial waters hold 90% of the UK oil resources, then 90% of 14.1 = 12.6% of UK taxes from Scottish oil fields. Agreed, yes?

Since Scotland is only 9% of the UK population, you have a stuation that 9% Scotland supplies 12.6% of the taxes raised. [and that's only oil taxes]

England owns none of the equipment, Scotland owns none of the equipment.

BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon, etc own the equipment.

Whichever country's teritorial waters the equipment is situated in, those companies pay a licence fee to that country, which is UK just now. THe oil companies extract the oil, the country puts duty and tax on the product each company sells.

So if BP sell 1000 litres of unleaded, the Scottish government collects whatever duty and taxes that were imposed on that product.

ally, David Cameron, WESTMINISTER TORY PRIME MINISTER is
