@ModernFrench I think it's pretty obvious - this is ballroom. Everybody knows it's different than Afro-Brazilian Samba which is (obviously) African-based and originated with slaves. Duh. Get over it. Nobody here thinks this is the only samba around. We're not as stupid as you think.
-
@ModernFrench Who did you mean by "these people"? Cause I am 100% sure that everybody at Blackpool that "Samba" anounced meant "International Ballroom Samba".
-
Also, on ORIGINAL Samba: male dancer and female dancer actually doesn't touch each other and the music is VERY different.
The guy who announced them said: "Samba". So these people think they're dancing samba... LOL
-
@ModernFrench I am truly sick of reading this EVERYWHERE, no this not Brazilian samba, this is INTERNATIONAL BALLROOM SAMBA, something i think you need to check up on
-
I'm Brazilian and I can tell.. this is not Samba.
The guys are moving their shoulders too much and the girls are just moving their butts.
Guys need to move feet and legs as well, and girls must move ALL the body.
This sounds like a samba technic on a paso doble dance. -.-

I wish Ricardo and Yulia would have won!

I know many great dancers who do like this music, including myself. I like mostly the samba and chacha music of Blackpool.
Maybe because I have seen so many great dancers training on this shit.
