@11enty11 The bass is quite refined, but with an effective floor of 55Hz, a sub is a wise choice. I recommend either a Klipsch or a JL sub if you want bang/buck. However, set your sub's filter at about 60Hz for the best performance. These speakers are amazing for bookshelves.

Hows the bass without a sub, i currently use harmon kardon soundsticks and considering switching to these... my only concern is that i will mass the sub, how is the bass on these speakers or will i have to invest in an additional sub?
