Kevin screams at 0:32

@ZionHoople I don't suppose they ever found it. Not to mention, in situations like this, one would think it would be wise to put one's retainer in his or her pocket or a ziploc bag so it won't accidentally be thrown out. If not put it in a handbag

In 1983 this exact thing happened to me in a fast food restaurant about 2 blocks from the Chinese Theater. My parents where literally digging through the trash in the alley off of Hollywood Blvd. When I first saw this movie the only thing I could think is there must have been a writer sitting in the restaurant.

@racguy1183 No, you take them out to eat.

I totally love that line that Karen Buckman utters:
"Gil, What'd you think? That you would dress up like a cowboy and coach little-league and Kevin would be fine?"
There are so many dough-head parents out there that think like that. It's sickening.

I just hate it when smaller kids bully people. I can relate to Kevin too, I just wish he wasn't so High Strung. It's just a retainer, only two hundred dollars. Not two THOUSAND dollars.

Shouldn't Kevin have kept his retainer in his mouth at all times? I don't know how retainers work so as if to say, it's a pity we never find the mystery of the missing retainer.

Great film, I use to watch this movie religiously when I was a kid.
Maybe he had OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). I was 10 and watching this movie on tape when I said, "Should I talk to a psychiatrist about my fears". My mother made a humorous remark but one year later I was in therapy and diagnosed with OCD. 18 years later I am still in therapy. Maybe I was ment to see this film.
