Shadows, the flying fortresses that fell from the sky, is a documentary by Sean Caveille about a tragic mid-air collision between two US aircraft, over UK soil, during 1944. The story is told from the perspective of a group of boys who witnessed the accident and found the wreckage.

It was premiered at the Royal British Legion in Newbury, Berkshire (close to the actual crash site) on 14 12 08. The director is currently seeking funds to complete the film by shooting vital interviews with US-based WWII veterans.

  • ok, there was another one that took place over essex and one b17 crashed in essex and the other just off the beach in allhallows in kent, the one in kent is still out there and back in the 80's when the tide went out you could still see some of the wreckage, i know that because my brother and his friends used to go digging around it and bring back lots of bits, when the police found out about the live ammunition there was a proper dig to remove it all! but not all of it! as its there still!
