A live performance of an algorithmic piece for microtonal string quartet samples. The first million digits of the mathematical constants e and Phi are used as data to choose pitch, duration, loudness, timbre and tempi of the music. I'm conducting the music - controlling which instruments are heard and the overall tempo. Algorithmic Arts ArtWonk is used to control string quartet samples from the Garritan Personal Orchestra library. This is from a concert given on April 11, 2010 at the People's Cultural Palace in Camperdown, NSW. Thanks to Nick Shimmin for hosting the event.
