The Raquette River runs North from the Adirondack Mountains to the Saint Lawrence River, through the Saint Lawrence Seaway along the New York and Canadian border, and finally into the Atlantic Ocean. It is the second largest river in New York State after the Hudson River. The meaning of it's name is not known but it has been called "The Noisy River" due to all the noisy waterfalls. Since I live at the top of the falls, the music of the water is a constant in my life.
