Pet Turtle Eats Pet Fish as Children Watch

We have a painted turtle and some baby bowfin fish. I thought they would make a good biology lab for our homeschool. Here Joseph the Turtle violently consumes a fish as mom is grossed out and the 4-year-old and 1-year-old are unfazed and continue to eat their snack. I guess the turtle and fish don't make good tankmates.

Well the thing is that when turtles are older they eat meat, that includes fish haha so that is why he eat it

That is correct. I just didn't realize they could eat fish quite so large.

No fence but I wouldn't want to put a turtle in with my fish, if that is all the retarded turtle does. But I also hate turtles. That's kinda stupid putting tjhem together, no offence.

Actually it was fine that the turtle ate the fish. We didn't mind. It was just new to me they could eat fish so big and I have to admit, I overreacted to seeing the cycle of life play out when the turtle spit out its prey and continued to eat it. I realize that's life though, and totally normal. No fence [sic] taken.

I used to feed my snapper adult mice. Only problem is too many uneaten mice organs floating around stinking up the tank! One time I thought my kid threw spaghetti in the tank till I realized it was mouse intestins!!!

u must not feed him that much fish cuz hes not very good at it my turtle eats them in 1 bite not to brag or any thing

well plecos are a very tough and tough feeling fish, it would be hard for a turtle, ecept for a juvinile(sp) snappper, to eat a pleco

my painted is half the size of that and he annihlates fish that same size. He loves fish and pellets.
