I'm like a stranger
Like a stranger in my own home town
I'm like a stranger
Like a stranger in my own home town

My so-called friends stopped being friendly
Oh but you can't keep a good man down
Oh no, can't keep him down

I came home with good intentions
About 5 or 6 years ago
I came home with good intentions
About 5 or 6 years ago

But my hometown won't accept me
Just don't feel welcome here no more

Took you a while man!

My hometown won't accept me
I Just don't feel welcome here no more

I came home with good intentions
About 5 or 6 years ago, yes I did
I came home with good intentions
About 5 or 6 years ago
But my hometown won't accept me
Just don't feel welcome here no more

I'm like a stranger, like a stranger in my own hometown
Yeah, I'm like a stranger, like a stranger in my own hometown
My so-called friends stopped being friendly
Oh but you can't keep a good man down

Do your thing, ______
My so-called friends stopped being friendly
Ah da da da

I came home with good intentions
About 5 or 6 years ago, yes I did
I came home with good intentions
About 5 or 6 years ago
My so-called friends stopped being friendly
Oh but you can't keep a good man down
No you cant keep him down

Play it again, play it again

I'm like a stranger, like a stranger in my own hometown
I'm like a stranger, like a stranger in my own hometown
My so-called friends stopped being friendly

Oh but you can't keep a good man down
No you cant keep him down
Yeah baby
Yeah baby

You will never know how many people around the world you have touched by your beautiful, wonderful postings of the KING....He brought us together from his music and you ALONE seem to be his best follower in bringing his legacy to life after all these years since he left us...

I admire your work!!!! Bless you!

  • Thank you so much! I don't know if I am the only one; there are many wonderful video makers on YT, but I love making the videos and try to show how wonderful Elvis was. ELVIS FOREVER

  • You've managed to make a great video made of great pictures and rhythmic song to go along.

  • Elvis, Jerry Lee, Moon Mullican, Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Bill Monroe - call it rock 'n' roll, R&B, Western swing, rockabilly, bluegrass, soul, etc. - the "white boys who sang black" - but they are all first and foremost blues singers and not country. Blues is the root to all great music. This one by Elvis is 100% blues.
