Long Islanders gather for another tea party rally. This time it's at the Smithhaven Mall in Smithtown, Long Island. Their main theme is "hands off healthcare".

  • The affront lies with the reps who are more concerned about following a political program rather than representing their constituency. The BTP wasn't about "choice" it was about a lack of representation and we are headed down the same path today with our elected reps completely dismissing our voice. That is not acceptable and it's perfectly fitting to protest it with a symbolic tea party.

  • Two Women by Stuart Browning is the video he references in this piece.

  • What choice are we taking away from others? The only shame is that of people like you who disgrace logic by making ignorant comments. We don't want the go't to say who lives or dies. Maybe you do. Shame is your middle name.

  • The Tea Party members are an affront to 1775 Boston Tea Party, therefore, should not parallel themselves nor their mission to Sam Adams and the like. How would you like if the government removed Medicare and SSI? You would not like that. Don't quote knowing the Constitution nor early American history...your cause is invalid. The Constitution does have its amendments. Interestingly, Tea Party members demand CHOICE, yet are the same members who take away that choice from others-shame on you.
