  • Looks like he's reading from a book. No thoughts of his own on these matters?

  • I'm actually reading from a script that I wrote. Ever consider that before?

  • And one more thing, I thought Richard Carrier was a mythycist?!

  • He is, he simply presumes Jesus' existence when critiquing the resurrection for sake of argument.

  • just because they died for their beliefs doesn't mean they believed Jesus was the Son of God. They could have just known the possibilities of the Kingdom in a polytheistic world filled with darkness, confusion and immorality. I'm not an atheist, but your argument is flawed.

  • I'm sorry? Please clarify. They were Jews before they met Jesus - not polytheists by any means.

  • Hey boy! Do you believe what you say, or just want to look smart?

  • What about a fourth group, a fanatical cult lead by Joseph of atamisis to create a united armed force against the Roman empire, However the stand in (impostor of Jesus) saw that A military force would crush Israel, so instead faked a rising into the sky.

  • Assuming there were no Occultists that could have taken a whole body from its grave 2000 years ago is question-begging. Although unlikely and sick, it is possible that Occultists of the day did take the body of Jesus in its entirety.

Conclusion: The Stolen Body Theory is highly contingent upon the tomb of Jesus being empty, the Resurrection never having had taken place, and ALL other explanations as to the whereabouts of the body of Jesus shown false.

  • The Apostles could have had other motivations for taking the dead body of Jesus out of his tomb: political or financial reasons (religions can be very powerful and big business). It is question-begging to assume, (if the Apostles knew the Resurrection did not happen), that the Apostles were unwilling to take their secrets to their graves!

It does seem unreasonable that the Jewish leaders 2000 years ago stole the dead body of Jesus, unless of course the body was re-stolen by others.

  • Not really. You just seem like the kinda guy that would read someone else's work and pawn it off as your own.

And on a side note, I find it frustrating that you make no attempt to communicate your thoughts to the layperson. Try cutting down on the obscure jargon, and you'll communicate more effectively with your youtube audience.

  • Great stuff, my only criticism is that the mysterious third party theory also would only explain why there was an empty tomb, it would NOT however say anything about the appearances to the disciples and the sincere beliefs of the disciples of a risen messiah.
