Sorry for my crappy video skills, I just slopped this all together to get it up here for those that didn't get a chance to make it down to Koreatown today or got turned away from the theater. Let me tell you, wow, it was a fun experience. I WILL NOT LIE~ I am typically afraid of SONEs, some can be rather annoying online but I was really impressed with the crowd today. Welcoming and friendly. The kpop community has come a long way from the days where I used to get weird stares because I'm white. ^^
Anyway, thank you SOSHIFIED and KOREABOO for their work for the event along with SMENTERTAINMENT for making it all happen. Always great to be around people that listen to the same stuff as me!!
The meetup started in the courtyard area of the movie theater with some dancing to GEE and then some Q&A with prizes. I answered two questions right (Who debuted in Japan before debuting in SNSD? [I showed some SooYoung fangirl pride here, what what] And which song was plagiarized by an Uzbek singer?). Then they had us get in line for tickets to the event. Side comment here, in that Chinese has a peculiar queing theory in that it's shove to the front. Koreans and kpop fans seemed to have the same mentality. XD!!! No offense, of course. But hey, that's how things are in China (I been there, I seen it). Anyway, got my ticket and wandered up stairs, got in line and waited.
Some guy came by with a camera and asked everyone to wish Soshified a happy birthday. I did, I'm excited to see it. I'm not a member (at least I don't think I am), but I hardly have anything worthwhile to contribute to a kpop forum as it is. Who knows, may change. I can hardly handle posting at BoAjjang. ;/ I DIGRESS!!!
We get inside the theater and I'm sitting in the third or fourth row on the end and they started to play SM videos on the theather screen! How epic is that? Pretty darn epic, so I just had to get videos of it so I can show just how loud people were screaming. I have to say, SuJu fans were well represented today!! The cheers for Siwon were... wow. He is handsome, yes, and every girl in that room knew it.
The contests were fun. I really wanted to go up and sing the chorus to Hoot, but as I'm not Korean and I don't even pretend to speak it I felt that I couldn't do it justice. :/ Oh well. Lol. Soshified gave out nice gifts of the new 2011 calendar, some folders, fan towels, and a Hoot album. Good stuff!
The video... I'm sorry, I was disappointed. The first part with behind the scenes footage for the Hoot MV and the debut of their fanclub was stuff I hadn't seen before, but the photoshoot video was released already on the Photobook DVD. This is why I didn't record it because, well, it's not new. It is good, I do recommend watching it for the eye candy. It is subtitled too, so us English speakers can understand what they were saying. :P
We also had the rare oppurtunity of writing a letter to our nine girls with the promise that they would be delivered directly to them. This was exciting. I was unprepared, didn't really know what to say. I didnd't write anything inappropriate! Haha, I'm sure some guys did even though we were told not to. :P Heh. At the end we took a group picture and I can't wait to see the official photography for it!

Great video! i enjoyed the fanmeet a lot too! but i cant help but point out in your video description. i dont think koreaboo had anything to with this meetup because everyone who planned it, volunteered for it, and organized it were only Soshified members and SM Ent staff. i hope you understand where im coming from. thanks!
