Ket Noi day 2 @ SMU (Jun 7, 2008)

This piece by a Vietnamese artist during the Ket Noi Singapore-Vietnam Performance Art weekend in Singapore.

1. Artist begins by wheeling out two large, black bags on a trolley

2. Takes out a large white cloth and lays it out on the ground

3. Takes out a chopping board and knife

4. Takes out a large chunk of meat (pork)

5. Slices off a fist-sized portion

6. Takes out glass cube and places pork portion into cube

7. Repeats this another 25 times (to produce 26 pork-filled cubes)

8. Places glass lid on 27 cubes (1 empty)

9. Arranges cubes in a straight line towards audience

10. Rearranges cubes into 3 x 3 x 3 structure (with empty cube being in bottom row, centre, facing audience)

11. Suddenly runs off with a cube (or 2?) and places it/them on ascending escalator. This is repeated until all cubes reach the top. Meanwhile audience all run up stairs to get better view

12. Last cubes reach top. End of performance.
