In the summer of 2006, Sigur Rós returned home to play a series of free, unannounced concerts for the people of Iceland. This film documents their already legendary tour with intimate reflections from the band and a handful of new acoustic performances. This them performing Vaka (Untitled #1) from their () album at Álafoss.

  • "In the summer of 2006," they're wearing sweaters and overcoats, and everything in the background is dead. are we sure this video is a summer performance? I've always heard summer is beautiful in Iceland.

  • @DennerBob I'm sorry, this was a description a found for their film, Heima. I'm entirely certain that was during the summer, but you're probably right—this was most likely during the winter.

  • @chrism216 you should check out Poets of the Fall. their songs are almost never the same sounding, and the lyrical content is almost poetic, yet almost no one knows about them. and yes, this "popular music" is getting to be just a bunch of noise with some words tossed around, dubstep being the worst culprit. this is the reason i mainly stick to the pre-2000 stuff (with the early 90's and the late 70's/early 80's hard rock being tops), and foriegn/underground stuff, and I'm only 24, lol

  • @Kwel1994 agreed

  • Beauty will never reach such heights

  • mi mente y su erección.

  • wow my words cant explain the beauty one day if i ever meet these master musicians i will have to give them thanks

  • @DennerBob Summer in Iceland averages the low to mid 50s (F.) It's a relatively cool climate, so this could have just been a chilly day, or morning.

  • One of the only bands out there that sounds better live than recorded.

  • its these songs that make me wonder what "popular" music is all the fuzz about...

  • This DVD is the Sigur Ros' "Live in Pompeii".
