I know that this song must sound terribly dated to young people that come across it. But give it a couple of minutes. If the line "the girl I knew has such a distant stare" doesn't chill the marrow in your bones ...

@axeslinger56 I have to tell u that i am 34 and i listened to this when I was 10 and recorded it on to a tape from my aunts record player. My best friend and I. To this day I have never drank or done drugs and drove. It was because of this song. Just a few weeks ago I found this tape and i let my 16 old listen to it. Told him to really listen to the words. Need i say more!!!

I didn't listen to too much punk music back in the day, but I did listen to D.O.A., Black Flag, The Dead Kennedys, and The Sex Pistols. This song kind of reminds me of early Floyd!

I remember you saying how much you liked this when I was making a comment about Uriah Heep. I don't know why they refused to play this song (73 or74) and they got booed off the stage...Uriah came out and blew the place away.
I LOVE this song though - memories (mostly on acid...)!!
