The 1st look in the world at the all new SLR Magic 50mm Hyperprime T/0.95 lens for Leica M mount. This lens looks, feels and performs like the Leica 50 Noctilux f/0.95 lens but it is heavier and a little bigger. Full samples and 1st look up on the website soon - http://www.stevehuffphoto.com

  • is it less than $500?

  • @VINTONGFX Let's see. The Leica is $11,000 - This one has the same build, feel, specs and is probably a but sharper (or at least the same). This lens cost much more than $500 to make so I doubt it would be sold at a loss.

  • Thanks for sharing this with us Steve. Will you be doing a more formal comparison of this lens with the Noctiluxes (0.95 and 1.0)? Also has SLR Magic shared what availability will be like?

  • @66GMT I will try my best! I am not sure how long I get to keep this one so we shall see.

  • What does "hyperprime" mean? Thanks.

  • @86BBUB That is the name for SLR Magic's high end line of lenses

  • @tumdeax I thought it's the same company. They have a 50 hyperprime 0.95 but it's E mount and made in Japan. The SLR magic I think is made in China if I'm not mistaken.

  • Nice lens and at half the price is a good deal for people dying to get a 0.95 lens, but for the money I'd get a 50 summilux if they have it in stock and rent this.

  • @AnhRichie it will be round about 4,000 $

  • Has there been a price estimate?? i'd get one if its around $3000.

  • @stevehuff1969 The Leica has less CA/purple fringing and overall better image quality. Yes, it's overpriced like most leicas, but the Hyperprime is only trying to ride the leica boat by pretending it's just as good. It's not.

  • what is SLR Magic, a manufacturer? I can't find the company website for SLR magic, just Noctor website.

  • that green color will ruin any Leica...

  • hey can it be used on nex??where can i get this from?thanks for the help..

  • Hope its better than Nokton Voigtländer 25mm F0,95.

    Really smooth lens!

  • can you see trough the VIEWfinder with that huge lebs mounted????!!!!!!!!
