It was a big day for both of us! It was Ben's 30th birthday and I had a final interview for a new job opportunity. I was taking the birthday boy to lunch, drinks and a movie (his favorite). We planned on going to Mez (a movie theater, restaurant, lounge Uptown Charlotte) to go see a movie of his choice. Due to him seeing everything in the theater except for Yogi Bear 3D and Little Fockers - Little Fockers it was!!! We headed uptown and had lunch (well, Ben had lunch and I had water ). Afterwards, we headed to Mez to enjoy a few pre-movie cocktails (beer for Ben and water for me) At 3 pm, we headed into theater for Meet the Fockers. The theater was empty, not surprising since it was 3 pm on a Wednesday. We enjoyed the movie and when it was over, I stood up to leave. Ben grabbed my hand and asked me what was on the screen. One of our favorite songs came on and...
It was a chronological photo collage from our beginning to the weekend before. It starts with a Kid Cudi song that we dance to quite often and then slowed down to a song by Marc Broussard we both enjoy. By the time video ended, Ben got down on one knee and said those special words. Of course I said yes! Then the staff came in with champagne, strawberries and sparklers!!!! We began to celebrate and I immediately wanted to call my family. I called the house line of my parents and no one answered.....then they all walked into the theater!!!
