is it really aquaponic if your garden isnot tied to your fish? what you have done (from what i have heard) is aquaculture, not aquaponics. good job though. how long did it take for your filter to come up to speed?

Well my "double barrel" system in other videos certainly qualifies as "Aquaponic" but this one was only so part of the time. We didn't show but we did grow some starter sets of veggies (lettuce and such) with floating rafts from time to time, and we constantly grew hyacinth to feed to the chickens and tilapia... so this three barrel recycling system was more aquaculture than aquaponic I suppose until I developed the other system.

Thanks it worked very well. We raised about 30-40 tilapia to harvest size. Yum Yum!! :0)
