Set to the tune of Dixie Land, a photo montage displaying various sections of the original 1862 battle flag of the Sixth SC Volunteers and the battle honors under which she flew. After extensive and pain staking restoration, this flag, along with many others, are now available for public viewing at the SC State Museum within the Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum.   • My Great Gr grandfather was in the 6th SC Inf. He was John Jackson Nichols. He was wounded at 7 Pines in May 62 , wounded again at sharpsburg in May 64 .Surrendered , paroled with Lee at Appomatox April 65 . He was 22 years old when the war ended. He returned to York co. and married Elizabeth Williford . They migrated to Rye Arkansas and had 11 children.
