@altfactor Let me clarify that Paul Alter was the only director to have directed episodes of both versions (Mike Gargiulo and Max Miller the other directors of the original)
@altfactor I forgot to add to the list the original choice for "The New Price is Right" who hosted the syndicated nighttime version, Dennis James. He was the only one to host both the original version (subbing for Cullen on NBC) and the current version. In addition, Paul Alter was the only director of both versions. Most of the original show's staff left Goodson-Todman to join Bob Stewart's production company.
@masoudfun1996 It's not even the real Kellogg's anymore, but a private equity group's holding company (read: corporate raiders) and the product manufacturing is now outsourced and most are loaded with high fructose corn syrup.
@altfactor Thanks for the information. It's still pretty ironic that the taping took place on the 7th anniversary of the last live (in the Eastern and Central time zones) broadcast of the original show from the Ritz Theater. Ironically, the Hudson Theater, where the show was born, and the Ritz (now Walter Kerr) still exist, Also, original announcers Don Pardo (NBC) and Johnny Gilbert (ABC) have outlived Bill Cullen, sub host and sub announcer Jack Clark, Johnny Olsen and Rod Roddy.
@Noveltooner The taping date was September 3rd, 1972; the episode number was 25-D (the 25th episode of the daytime version), meaning that this episode probably aired at the end of the fifth week of the show's daytime network run, sometime in early October of 1972.
This episode aired exactly seven years to the day after "The Price is Right" left ABC, Bill Cullen, producer/creator Bob Stewart, and New York City forever (September 3, 1965).
