I am motivated today to get rid of the things I'm holding onto for tomorrow so I can better enjoy today! I am three pages into Peter Walsh's "It's all too much" and I am so excited to start getting rid of the extra stuff I'm saving for tomorrow and being happy with what I have "today". Purge a garbage bag today! We all have too much!

  • I totally get the purge thing but I must confess, I did purge most toys(my girls are 20 and 22) but I kept the books. I know, but hear me out. I am sure that I can't see myself in a big cozy chair with future grandkids and an electronic book. It is NOT the same. I created a beautiful library space in my home and this is where they are for now. I even pick one up once in a while and it brings back wonderful memories.

  • I purged 2 big garbage bags of toys over the weekend! YAY!! Felt great:)

  • Peter Walsh is fantastic!!! I just found "him" yesterday and I was watching the "enough already" and it just opens ones eyes up! im not in clutter, but i have things i just have a hard time getting rid of, but im so motivatet after watching the show, i never want to live like that. witch of his books do you like the most?

    - love iris

  • I love that book! I read it from time to time to keep me motivated.

  • taking away from today. wow. that

  • I think also instead of focusing on purging so much, I think its also important to question why you buy all that crap. No child needs hundreds of stuffed animals, I think that bring that into the house is a more important issue to address possibly.

  • We're moving from a three bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment so we are going to be doing some major downsizing--especially in the book department!

  • I am so bad with this. My 9 year old has stuff galore. I have such a hard time getting rid of this and so does she. My problem is about 4 years ago I got rid of a ton of stuff. A few I regret because now I have a 3 year old grandson that comes daily and he would have enjoyed those educational toys that I can no longer afford to buy :( I don't however, regret getting rid of the huge construction bag full of stuffed animals! hee hee.

  • Love this tip! I'm only 19 so no kids but I still do the "oh i should keep this because you never know when i might need {insert useless object here}" :P

  • is worldwide, canada or USA, also you can swap your books or clothes, in various sites like, rehashclothes or swapstyleom, or bookmooch,,,, com i use paperbackswap, is free in all the sites, from ladies to ladies, so basically anyone who will ship to u (canado ro the world) just exchange stuff and done!
