This is Eric Reed rehearsing with Willie Jones III (drums), Rodney Whitaker (bass), Stacy Dillard (tenor saxophone) and Jeremy Pelt (trumpet). The song is a new Eric Reed original entitled "Stand!" which will also be the name of the Eric's soon-to-be-released CD on the WJ3 label. For background information on the title, read Ephesians 6:10-18.

Pelt seems to have a touch of Hubbard in his solo. Nice...real nice.

Absolutely. He has Tyner's drive - but maybe an even fuller sound, if that's not sacrilegious?

The Tyner touch, I like that Eric. Good influenced is what brings out the best in a person. McCoy has set his mark in the world of Jazz and now is your turn Brother. You definitely have what it takes to be a great Pianist. The techniques you've develop are masterful and they are yours and that's what sets you apart from the rest. My best wishes to you Eric...

Just saw Pelt live at Birdland last weekend with the Louis Hayes band. It was seriously the best trumpet I have ever seen played live!

Eric is so cool on that instrument, he definitely reminds me of Tyner in his younger years. Fact is Eric is his own man, there's a unique style and technique in his playing...
