Peter Cook is by a country mile the funniest Englishman ever his talent never diminished he got older and like Fry says there is no room for any sympathy Peter had a great life and a great wife and he had private eye and did lots of fun jobs like this one, Cook is one of the best people I have watched in my life. I am working class and we all loved him growing up

@spotlitekid1You're wrong. Clive, like Peter, was Cambridge educated. Clive was a lawyer and his comebacks are both spontaneous AND carefully considered at the same time and you can see that he always has an enthusiasm with it too. That is a skill. Clive frequently provides some of the punchlines in these sketches - his timing is great. Like when he says 'if then' to Peter Cook's line and then, at the end, 'Well, yes or no would be handy'. Clive's dry delivery complements and aids Peter's lines.

I think this programme aired in 1994, shortly after Cook got married again and shortly before he died. His talent did diminnish through the years, didn't it! Peter Cook: How I wish we were here with you now. Unbelievable genius.

haha classic...when was this show aired?

I remember watching this when it was originally aired!
His characters lived and breathed. You'd imagine they really did have their own existence. Brilliant.

I think someone is missing the spirit of this website. Can we not turn it into the usual boring cus & rant fest that seems to blight peoples enjoyment of genius? Sorry, I've gone & done it myself. Get back to me if you can offer something worth reading, aarrggggggggggghhhhh - again, stop it!
