Salamualakum, first of all i would just like to point out that if anyone does go and ask the person in the grave this is wrong! However doing dua near the graves of the aulia/walliallah (saints) to allah is totally acceptable because 1. as mentioned in the quran they are not dead because they are shaheed and freinds of allah 2. there is a special blessing over their graves because they are not ordinary people. May allah put us on the straight path. Ameen

Dua is one of the best acts of Worship,
When people do dua to Graves and ask help from them then its nothing but Worshiping Graves.
Its a clear shirk.All our dua's should be for Allah.As soon as we do act of worship to someone else than Allah, we are commiting shirk,Its so simple to understand.
Prophet(pbuh) NEVER done dua 2 graves
Sahaba's Never done dua 2 graves.
Neither Quran says do dua to Graves,We should do dua for Graves but not to then.
May Allah guide us to true Islam of Allah.
