A video creation business came to our college and set up in the student center. We ( Hardsoul Poets) practically lived on campus so we took our own song and created a video to it with all the latest cheesey effects, in 1990 that is...This is the original line up of Hardsoul Poets which began a revolving door of members after 1991. The band later became Jolene which had international success with the song "Pensacola". From left to right the members in this video are Chris, Brannon (drums) John (lead singer) and Ried on bass. It's been 20+ years now but I still think of Pancakes as "Johnny Cakes" thanks to John and his ability to throw together pancakes for us on those mornings after. I wish I'd kept in touch with the guys. -Robitussin

Always thought Hardsoul Poets was a great band name. Jolene was the best band in the Carolinas in the 90's! You guys should have had the success Hootie had.
