The Saisiyat people hold an annual ceremony known as a-owaz ka kawas to worship the thunder deities in the third lunar month. During the activities, they pray for rain, sun and the expulsion of diseases from the community. The SawanSawan Family in Miaoli hosted the three-day ceremony in March 15-18 this year. The preparatory meeting was held on the first day, followed by pigs slaughtering on the second day. The main ritual was held on the last day at the Sawan Family house. Every household sent representatives to join the three-day ceremony.
