Halwa is actually an adopted foreign dish of India. it was brought to the sub-continent probably by the Moguls who would have brought it over from the Turk regions. This dish can be found in Turkish/ Mediterranean and Arab/Persian regions.
It is somewhat more native to Greece than it is to India due to demographics (being closer to Turkey), but it is very very popular and now common in India and has many varieties adapted to Indian styles and ingredients.

I like very much the way you presented the HALVA recipe. In Greece we make halva almost the same way you do using similar ingredients. You can try the greek halva (watch?v=3dWlSHvYPbY).
I 'll try making Suji Halwa. George.

Wonderful. Sheera is an awesome dish. I enjoy having it at good udipi restaurants, where they make it in the mornings. But one can have delicious sheera made at home too.:)

I really love this recipe. My neighbor is from Iraq and she's made this dish a number of times for me. What I like about it the most is that it isn't too sweet. A recipe I simply must try from my channel.

We have never tried this with a sweetener but Slenda comes in a granulated from that people say can be used just like sugar.
