  • I want info too!!! I have a 1998 Mk8 LSC that I want to play around with..

  • Hahaha. I gotcha - 12.18 is more like it :)

  • Oh, duh. I thought this was related to an earlier conversation. :) I tend to think that everything is about ME. No, that combination netted me a 12.18. I guess that was a bit of a post hijack, my apologies.

  • Now I'm really confused. 100 shot with the cold air trick, chip, exhaust, ignition, locked diff, drag tires, etc. and it only got you 0.16 better than stock???

  • Misc: Dynotune in car A/F meter, Snow Performance N/A water-methanol injection kit, custom designed and manufactured nitrous/water-meth electronic controls and metering

  • Spark Plugs: AC Delco R42LTS

Fuel Octane: 87 (yup you read that right)

Transmission: Computer modified 4R70W with 2800 stall

    Differential: Track-Lock

Cooling System: Computer modified, stock system

    Gears: 3.73

    Suspension: Ridin' on air!

    Wheels: Stock 16" 20 spoke

Tires: BF Goodrich Drag Radials, 275/16/50

    Weight with Driver: 4000

  • Nitrous System: Nitrous Express 20922 with DynoTune progressive controller set at 30hp at launch and a 1.5 second ramp

    Nitrous Shot: 100

    Engine Specifics: 4.6L Modular

Intake/ Air Filter: Modified stock with all the silencer crap taken off

    Headers: Stock manifold

Exhaust: Magnaflow with ginormous cutouts immediately aft of the manifolds

Computer/Chip: SCT Superchip tuned by Wes Choate at All Out Performance

Ignition: Screamin' Demon coil packs with Livewire wires

  • I have worked now for 3 years on my Mark, and I have dyno'd and experimented with every engine bolt on and accessory you can imagine including CAIs, Shortys, exhausts, U/D pullies, J-mods to the 4r70w, 80mm TBs, MAF upgrades, gear changes, driveshafts, IMRC deletes, intake changes, cams, nitrous and just about anything else excluding S/C or Turbos. Please don't belittle my work by calling all of that easy!

  • Instead of point by point going over each of your options I would like to say that the reason I am addressing this at all is by using the word "easy" it takes away from the very intense amount of study and work that I and others have done in order to produce a "fast" Mark VIII. At no time was it "easy" and 70% of what is available doesn't produce a measurable result either on the dyno, nor at the track.

  • for starters Cold air intake, up the maf, up the TB, shorty headers from a mustang (with slight fabrications) should work, port and polished Plenum, most exhaust system upgrades from a cobra would work (again may need fabrication), supercharging almost any ford or Lincoln involves a hood upgrade.

plus these 4.6s ford uses can take hell, nitrous systems seem to work very well and there you can use a cobra's nitrous system.

by "easy" i meant easy to find the parts
