Im staying with a thai family who have family in bangkok, surat thani, and chang mai.
I'll most likely only be living in bangkok for first 30 days of the first year stay.
where do you think is best in thailand for finding friendly small town locals.

@sk84gs hey,i was born in bangkok and lived there till 2009.now im living in taiwan. my suggestion for u would be....u should learn some thai language,it will make ur life alot easier there cus most of them much prefer farang speaks thai language.the profits from learning thai language are u can get a good price when buying things and will never been cheated by thai people. by da way,the traffic in bangkok still bad and the mrt system's not enough for bangkok people.

do you live in bangkok currently?
My friend is from northern Thailand (but currently living in Dubai) and ill be staying with her sister and grandma for the start of my life in Thailand. I'll be spending 9 days in Phuket with her at the start of april, then she will return to dubai untill she is called back to work in Bangkok.
Do you have any suggestions for me?

@sk84gs there're some of good and bad parts of bangkok. dont expect too much for good things cus u might get pissed everyday.take a deep breathe, relax and dont get things too seriously,u will be happy in bangkok.
