I'm a Jazz fan from Brazil but I always loved to see John Starks on the court. His heart, passion and strenght inspires everyone who saw him play the game. Good times when they broadcast NBA on NBC here. Respect.

He felt like they had the team in 1993 and didn't know why they didn't get it done? I know why. His name is CHARLES SMITH! That fucking soft ass, marshmellow had no business playing for the tough, physical, defensive minded Knicks.
Smith SUCKED! Completely fucked up Game 5, and allowed Pippen to have a HUGE series.
In 1992 X completely dominated Pippen. Had The Knicks kept X in 1993, I swear they would've beaten Chicago, and most likely, Phoenix. Charles Smith and Greg Anthony SUCKED!

@ChrisnSnoop Awesome comment! I definitely agree. Regardless of what the naysayers and his critics may say, I LOVE John Starks, he will always be one of my favorite players who gave 100% each time he stepped on the court and someone who was always smiling even after tough losses. The standing ovation he got when he returned to the Garden in 1999 pretty much said it all. He most definitely got the HEART of a CHAMPION and was freakin... awesome!!!

Patrick Ewing was the Knicks franchise player...but John Starks was the heart that brought him and the team to the Finals.

JOHN STARKS WAS INDEED THE BEST SIXTH MAN EVER.
THAT OFF THE BENCH ENERGY CAN NEVER BE REPRODUCED, AND YES THE NEWYORK KNICKS SHOULD RETIRE THAT NUMBER.

I couldn't have put it any better. He did so much for our team that, we knew even though he shot 2-18 he still deserved our respect.
