@LaNoteRouge I meant 'home made' filters, sorry for the typos. Analog mixers would not produce any sound of their own.
Remember ! At the time synths were not even avalaible....

@DarthJedi2005 Not what I read. From what I gathered, Delia Derbyshire made with various test generators and home 'home made' (understand BBS RW) recorded on tape and them some cutting and sticking of tapes...

For anyone looking for the differences between the "televised" and "recorded" versions: if this song were divided into measures, the main melody would start in the fourth measure in the televised version and the third measure in the recorded version. This is assuming that each segment of notes, like from 0:00 to 0:04, is one measure.

@DarthJedi2005 By 'orgmented', I presume you mean 'augmented'. Sorry.

@slappedbyabonzo It is the first ever made

@JustWickedSwede I never said it was. I was referring to the wider availablilty of digital synthesisers, which became promenant in the 70s/80s.

@DarthJedi2005 Theremin is not digital x(
I like it. I REALLY like it.
And why is televised in inverted commas?

Because it is not the official title of the track. Due to the differing versions of the original theme, I organise them into "Televised" (the one used in the TV show between 1963 and 1966), "Full" (the remade one that was the basis for the reworking in 1966) and "Released" (the one that was commercially released in the 70s)

I wonder if this is done on a theremin?

No it isn't. The main theme was created with an organ, orgmented through various types of analogue audio mixers. No digital in those days remember, everything was on tapes. I suppose you could call it one of the world's first synthesisers.
