Foster + Partners' new building for the commercial art gallery Sperone Westwater maximizes a narrow footprint by turning a large elevator into an exhibition space. Located a block from SANAA's New Museum, the project is the latest to bring contemporary design to Manhattan's historically gritty Bowery.

  • the building is very ordane in appearance but it has a good primary function normy has a splendid, imagination for simplistic stuff

  • I hope the museum can eventually acquire some of those crummy buildings and expand its street frontage...a la MoMA, heheh.
