I recently designed, coded and built a toolholder using Mastercam Mill X1 at LWTC several days ago.
This was at the behest of the Instructor, who wanted a simple toolholder for students to make and use.
This qualifies: One setup, four minutes(at the full speed settings I chose). Now, I'm sure I could do better if I tried, but this is a good enough speed/feed ratio to make it not worth it, especially in a school environment.
I'm using four tools:
1. .5"X1" 6fl Carbide endmill(re-sharpened at least once)
2. .125"X.25" 4fl Carbide endmill(New)
3. #2 Centerdrill, HSS.
4. .159 drillbit, HSS.
And, hopefully I'll be able to add a 5th, a tapping cycle to it:
5. 10-32 tap, HSS.
The stock is a 4" long piece of .625 square 4140 steel barstock.
Note that the back end is usually cut square on a manual or CNC mill, more to make the finished product look better than anything else.
