    Thank you very much! I am going to practice this at work regularly. Just practicing it for a few minutes just now has really helped.

    I definitely have muscle that has built up at the base of my neck and I suffer from chronic upper back/shoulder/neck pain. Will these exercises eventually reduce that muscle/tissue build up, or do I need to work with a massage therapist to strip out the knots etc. that have built up there?

    Most people need manual therapy. Both joint mobilizations AND soft tissue work.

    Thanks Sam, Very explicit well done video, thanks! I wonder why you would not also suggest Feldenkrais Practitioners and Alexander Teachers? as well as classes such as Feldenkrais 'Awareness Through Movement' and "Bones for Life'?? We deal with this specific head/neck relationship with great success, modestly spoken.. Thanks!

    Thanks for your comment. There are many practitioners that do good work amongst many disciplines. If I don't recommend a discipline its usually because of inconsistent knowledge amongst its practitioners, or frankly I don't have experience with that particular discipline.

    @newmexicoflygirl,

    Its really amazing to me how difficult it is to find practitioners that know this kind of stuff. Most chiros and PTs have hideous posture and not a day goes by I don't see a patient who has been to 15 practitioners and not a single one of them identifies and corrects the most simple issues. You unfortunately really have to hunt to find a good practitioner. I suggest finding a Rolfer.

    I found a chiropractactic specialty called Upper Cervical Chiropractic, immediately helpful in bringing my head back from being too far forward. You will find many different methods within Upper Cervical... Head/Chest, Blair (both of which is a more forceful correction); NUCCA, Atlas Orthogonal being more gentle adjustments. Their GENERAL belief is once the C1 (Atlas) & C2 (Axis) are in line with each other the rest of the spine over time comes into self alignment. Has been amazingly for me!

    Dear Sam, Thank you for your advice. I have been nauseated for the last month, with increasing numbness and tingling in fingers and increasing migraines. I'm young, and sit at a desk often to work.

    I have foreward head posture but my torso is unusually tall for my body so I'm forced to look forward a lot at work where the counters are low, do you have any recommendations for preventing this while working?

    problems you're describing. The best thing you can do is to start standing up better using Sam's postural videos, and log some serious hours in proper posture. I have a neck stretch video on my channel that will also help the height discrepancy of your shoulders. It sounds like, though, you need to get to a professional to get a full assessment and at least point you in the right direction. Be discerning when looking for one, testimonials of people with similar conditions are very helpful.

    Olivia,

    Be wary of assigning blame to the bag carrying or to pre-identify what's out of alignment by yourself. For example: most people who carry a bag on one shoulder will have that shoulder be significantly higher than the other, because the upper trapezius engages to keep the bag from falling; the right shoulder might be the properly located shoulder, while the left one is too high/out of place; there are likely issues in your hips that can translate up to your shoulders and cause the
