  • I still like building up a bookshelf.

The IPAD doesn't use the reading technology that the kindle uses so it strains your eyes and its much heavier and has a far inferior book selection, not to mention you only have 10 hours of battery life and you have a weeks worth of battery life on a kindle. For readers, the Kindle is hands down superior to the Ipad. Reading on an Ipad is a secondary feature, the kindle specialized in it.

  • Wow! just brought two new kindles for the kid,s and guess what, no sound! which I thought was a great feature of my old one. Secondly why haven't Amazon paid more attention to its greatest selling point. And I don't mean being able to down load free ebooks. Its the ability to change the font size. My mother loves this feature as she is partially sighted. No if Amazon only made the buttons that turn the page more visible, maybe she would find using it a little easier. Nice try Amazon but no cigar

  • @Sacario7000 Do you normally read books in ink colors other than black?

It's an E-Reader, not an iPad...

  • @Nopartyforme1 a months battery

  • @dlugosch1 both have an extensive array of books available for purchase, though for me Nook is a no go as they don't sell ebooks to Israeli customers. however, the NOOK supports ePub files, which means you can buy ebooks from anywhere on the net and transfer them into your device. with Amazon, you have to either purchase directly from Amazon's Kindle Store, or elsewhere as an ePub file, and then convert that file to the Kindle's format, which is called MOBI.
