  • My engine did the same shit. Yours sounded louder.

  • Sorry to hear, you are gonna get a new one from Subaru, looks like one more victim, good luck

  • Thanks to all those who viewed and commented. Some of you of course not too impressed with my driving.

In anycase, I am not a special case, there are about 20 of us that i know off, with the same problem, too many for a brand new car.

Subaru seems to have at least commented at least verbaly that this is a known problem now related to the machining and deburring process.

In anycase, break in your engine, but if you car is one of the ones impacted by this, breaking it in may not matter

  • it doesn't really matter if you broke it in or not, I beat the crap outta my sti when i first got it and there's not much difference in the two motors. subaru just went cheap that's all, I mean come on plastic intake manifold?

  • I did not know about the plastic manifold, hmmm

  • OMG dude stop filming n shut it off lol

  • well my friend this is a subaru not a porsche. just cuz everyone doesn't read manuals is no reason to throw blame...everyone knows that when its new...u need a to keep it below 4k rpms for the first 400 miles...and after that dont get into it for the first 1k miles just to make sure everything is running correctly and lubed up. u dont just ram ur dick into a woman right?? theres gotta be sum sort of wetness lol but to be honest all engines are run in the factory for a while...kids r destructable

  • That sucks. I just blew my engine in my vf52 swap 2008 wrx. I dont get warrenty...so i guess life is over now unless i hit the lottery.lol

  • To all people who hate on Subaru:

Everyone has problems. To be fair though, EJ25s have ALWAYS had some kind of issue. Subaru's greatest mistake was phasing out the 205, 22E, & 22T for the American market. It's latest EJ25 is horrid & goes against the reliability reputation Subaru has built for itself.

I've owned 2 Subarus. They were both awesome cars. No major failures at all. Just the occasional burnt light bulb or popped fuse. Both were late 90's models.

  • I had the same problem. Same car. And they replaced the engine at 42,000km. Exact same sound. When the car was new the PVC valve froze and started blowing white smoke checked the oil and the stick was dry. Maybe this was the cause of my problem.

  • Man, subarus have ALWAYS sucks. I owned 2 subarus (years apart) that had nothing but problems. And I always hear the same lies (being perpetuated by Subaru); that the problems are somehow related to "older models" and "they have been fixed now"....but every few years its a new recall or a new rash or problems with the cars they said were "fixed".....the cars have always sucked. From my first 2001 Outback to this 2009 WRX. I guess you have to own one to KNOW the misery that is Subaru ownership.

  • that is some nasty ass rod knock

  • @m69ortiz subarus practically are now american douche, and thats why they are starting to suck now

  • @porkhang yeah that and america practically runs em now :( thats probly why they look like kia's now too (after 07)

  • Shoulda bought a American car!!!

  • POS Subaru engines.

  • you got knockin bro lmao
