Fifty spaceships, each three miles across, hover ominously above Earth's major cities. The Visitors that emerge are humanlike in appearance and extend the hand of friendship. Amazing how nothing has changed in 20 years. We all like sheep stare at the tube waiting for the man in the box to tell us what is happening. We live by the tube, we eat in front of the tube, we don't do anything without the tube. Wow! What's on TV tonight? American Idiot (I mean Idol)?

Jeez... I didnt realize how much Independance day took from this. The ships look alike, all over the major cities, the girl talking about dying a virgin, even a freaking COUNTDOWN! "OH NO! YOU DID NOT SHOOT THAT GREEN SHIT AT ME!"

I think Robin knew that Daniel liked her. She just didn't care. She's not being dumb. If anything, Daniel was being dumb. Robin was not leading him on. Daniel was leading himself on.

yes the book,the second generation is very good,action packed,it would be a pity if noone transferred it to the screen..

they also said the leader of the alien's name is diana which is the name of the sumerian goodess of ancient mythology she was the goddess of hunting, wilderness and animals which is almost similar to the character of diana in the series.- the leader of reptilians animal beings

someone just told me that this series disguises the nature of the antichrist and his army when they come to earth which is near. that we are being shown all this to think its ok when alien reptilian things in our disguise take over us. the remake just cemented this with the one eye in between the letter V which is the actual sign of the anti-christ. he is one-eyed reptilain shapeshifter - and the V aliens are reptiles passing in human form. how creepy is that.

I remember that I learned two things when I saw this on TV about 25 years ago...

1) How to count down from 20 in different languages (though I only knew one or two numbers from each)

2) That GMT is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.
