Twenty years ago Wednesday (03-28-1987) I was in Palmdale and shot this vid of the Palmdale Plaza. For YEARS Palmdale Plaza was the HUB of Palmdale, with Don Hertel Drugs and Woolworth stores, not to mention J.C. Penny. I know that Palmdale has changed dramatically and I would really love to know how the Plaza looks now. PLEASE help me by shooting a 360 degree panoramic of the Palmdale Plaza now, twenty years later. I was standing on the SW corner of the Plaza near the corner of Q-6 and Sierra Highway.

I lived in Palmdale from 1954 (when I was born) to 1977 and was only able to return for this one trip ten years after leaving. Please post a video response. Thank you SO much.

  • Haha, I see my parent's business next to BJ's bar. So many days I spent there as a kid. Eating at Foster's freeze and El Toreo. Shopping at the 2 story JC Penney and Woolworth's. Fun times. Good to see it again how I remember it. :)

  • AVFlorist @15 sec, look at all those stores, jobs, gone....

  • Forgot to mention Charro's bar, wild place, lots of mexican came in there..... fights, drunks... man that was fun. Now the whole darn town is mexican as is souther california.; but I have to admit the have brought two things to palmdale............. HOT LATINAS and great Mexican food. You probably remember El Toreo being right off sierra highway.. Now there are 7 of them throughtout the Antelope Valley and their food is great in my opinion.

  • WoW, I was 35 in 1987. Remember all this too well, the Foster Freeze had the best hambuger called the Charlene burger, BJ's was a lot of fun and ran a book making business as did the horseshow club, that place is a total dump now, go there get shot. The Lucky one was in that shopping center as was the indoor theater (the walk in) saw Flubber in 1965 there. The plaza was a nice place then and the whole area especially just east of there is a dump and keeps the cops busy. Palmdale population 130K

  • I was 17 and a Junior in HS in Ohio back then. I drove a redone 76 Dodge Charger SE. Blue and white with the rally package. What a sweet car it was. Wish I still had it.

  • Carbonsnail@SBarsinister lmao. Haha. No it was just a surplus store that sold Levis and military type things I bought a USMC cap there about a year before I joined the Corps. As a black kid growing up there in AV i don't having any racial problems back than aside from this stupid fight day at PHS once a year. I split in 81 for college and the military. I noticed when I went back 6 months ago that there where alot more Mexicans living there now than before back than there were hardly any.

  • @Andres83G6
