There are a few versions of the folksong adaptation of this story on the web. Search for 'Mistletoe Bough'. Bellowhead's version from the BBC 4 Christmas Sessions is terrific. For UK-based individuals the programme is usually repeated around Christmas (surprise, surprise) and is available for a few days thereafter on the BBC iPlayer (it comes in around 16" 24' and is preceded by Thea Gilmores singing her own composition, "That'll be Christmas", another Christmas cracker).
That's pretty sad. Poor guy, and the wife too. :( Anyway, the video brought a creepy but depressing atmosphere to the story and I think that's brilliant. Lovely video. :)
