Donkey Kong Country 3 (GBA) - An oversight in Surf's Up...

This is a video of the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3. The GBA version has a new world, Pacifica, and it has six new levels. One of these levels is known as Surf's Up, which is a tube toboggan level based off of Demolition Drain-Pipe (in this game) and Whiplash Dash (in DKL3). This level has a way to bypass the first toboggan, allowing you to play the level without using it. You need both Kongs to do this trick, and you need Kiddy to be active. When you approach the first toboggan, press R to make Kiddy carry Dixie. Then, jump, and press Up and B to toss her over the toboggan. When Dixie is above the toboggan, she has to be as high as possible. If you're too low, you'll hit an invisible blast barrel which will launch you into the toboggan. This will screw up what you want to do. But, if you manage to pass this toboggan, you can play the level without the toboggan. Just be aware that there are Buzzes that aren't meant to be jumped over normally, so you'll have to throw Dixie above the Buzz in order to get past.

Some other things:

- I purposely miss one of the bonus stages because when you finish one of them, you'll end up on one of the toboggans...
- If you're wondering why the music is so weird, it's because Rareware decided to change the entire soundtrack for the GBA version. Stupid, I know...
- You'll notice that all the DK barrels and Star barrels are missing. This is because I used a code that disables these barrels, making the game harder. If you want to try this for yourself, select Cheats on the file select screen. Then type in TUFFER, and then choose an empty file. Have fun!

That must be a world not in the SNES. Did the GBA have extra worlds, or were some of the worlds in SNES replaced?

The GBA has one new world called Pacifica. This is one of the levels.

Why does the GBA version have 4 times the cardrige size than the SNES version? Is it because of better music and sound effects quality? I like the SNES version much more than GBA (just finished GBA, with a mere 58%, meh. On SNES version I found the lost world and stuff)

The biggest complaint i have about the new soundtrack for dkc 3 on the gba is the new boss theme they gave to the final boss. It is ugly.

Have you guys noticed that it is pretty much impossible to find the "K" and the"O" in this level? But if anyone does find them, do tell where they are!!

The reason the soundtrack is different is because they couldn't replicate it very well on the GBA, so they made a new one. i personally like the new sound track, but I can see why people don't like the change.

not really, all the levels are the same, just the music is a different. This is one of the levels that was new in the gba version. I have both versions and I like the gba version better. DKC2 for gba is the one that is way different than the original.
