Annette Gordon-Reed, Author, Anisfield-Wolf Winner, and Professor at New York Law School, speaks about her latest book "The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family." 09.11.09
Have you really read her book, one of the most thoroughly researched books on the subject? You don't sound like one acquainted with historical writing. Here in the UK,where the Jefferson-Hemings story has never been a subject of fascination, the book is held up in history dpts.as a great example of thorough research and scholarship. No such writing is free of interpretation (the demand for interpretation-free historical writing is purely ideological) and her case is well argued.

Annette Reed presents supposition as fact. She therefore has very little credibility.
