  • i wish i could find this single on the script logo

  • actually he did, but Mary Wilson grew some balls and stood up to Berry, and put her foot down and told Berry no, that Jean Terrell was in, and im glad she did, i love Syreeta, but i think Jean was better off in The Supremes

  • @MotownMaster Mary may have put her foot in her mouth as now the jury is in and Jean Terrell, talented as she is, was proven the wrong choice. Syreeta was who was needed to fill Diana Ross' high heels. Jean was great, but ordinary on stage and by the time she developed into something, she was ready to quit. I'm so tired of hearing how Berry did The Supremes in. Jean Terrell, through no fault of her own, is what killed them. I was there, I saw it happen. I was a casualty of hers too

  • @supremester2 Jean killed The Supremes?

  • Dusty is even better on this song.

  • Love Syreeta's version of this, as well as Diana's. Dusty Springfield also does a great version of this.

  • Wow, Really does sound like Diana Ross here!

  • I think Syreeta does a great job with this song. Personally, I think Dusty Springfield's cut is the definitive - not only is Dusty's voice more mature and expressive, but she had Gamble and Huff to do the arrangement, and you CAN'T beat those guys. Rita's original is a great slice, though, and I enjoy it a lot. I find Diana's version too campy and overblown to really feel as sincere or believable as Syreeta or Dusty. Stephanie Mills's take is just overlong, bland, and gross. Typically 80s.

  • Stephanie Mills' version is the best without a doubt...

  • Syreeta did the original version of this song in late 1967, and then Diana Ross did it in her Surrender album in 1971.

  • its a shame to hear shes passed on....

she was stevie wonder's mrs for quite a while... i think she was in the car when stevie had that crash as well....

  • Which version? Her 1968 'unreleased' version or the 1971 'Surrender' album version?

  • This version by Syreeta along with Beck's are THE best.
