It's creepy how modern Europe and American Liberals are both so politically aligned with the vastly more murderous left-wing socialism whilst feigning disgust of right-wing socialism.

It's creepier still that left-wing socialists have succeeded in smearing those who oppose socialism with the purposefully unreferenced "right-wing" label.

Simple and effective.

Not many know that "holocaust" is a happy notion to Marxists. Or that the post-war treaty, signed by FDR, Stalin, et al, simply absolved the Soviets of theirs.

Go figure.

Though not as murderous as today's eco-socialists, the Soviet socialists were about ten times as murderous as their German socialist comrades, according to "The Black Book of Communism". This video is comprised of excerpts from a harrowing documentary on the topic.

"feudalism is ..." merely a broad reference to a wide range of socioeconomic rules spanning half a millennium. And unless you don't consider situations such as formal class hierarchy, sub-class restrictions, and subjugation -- all of which were present throughout the feudal period -- to be forms of taxation/slavery, then you would be wrong there too.

The problem is you are too attached to classical liberal "freedom," which is not the true freedom.

Traditional notions of freedom are more profound; see Meister Eckhart for example.

My point on "feudalism" withstands your one example. Your other is of one man's philosophy.

That some instances of feudalism were less abhorant than others doesn't elevate them to any level of goodness realized under our system. Notably, the USA was constituted to prevent a regression to feudalism between states. It skyrocketed us to a greatness far surpassing all prior, by any and all sound measures. Consider one.
