His name is Clifton James
Blustery, stocky, loud although often genial character actor who has created a niche for himself playing often frustrated and fast talking Southern characters.....most noticeably as "Sheriff J.W. Pepper" alongside Roger Moore in the James Bond spy adventure Live and Let Die (1973), plus his character returned to assist 007 again in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974

  • What are you? Some kinda doomsday machine boy? Well WE got a cage strong enough to hold an animal like you here!

    Secret AGENT? On WHOSE side?

  • Best Dixie stereotype ever. Boss Hogg looks subtle next to this guy.

  • It's about time MGM and Danjaq to make a James Bond spinoff TV show starring Clifton James as the bumbling Sheriff J.W. Pepper from the previous first two Roger Moore/007 films 'Live and Let Die' (1973) and 'The Man With The Golden Gun' (1974) if the scripts were good and make sense more.

  • "...and tha' means you, smartass." XD

One of the most memorable characters from the world of 007.

  • @pinz2022

    The boats' stolen.

  • @rowdy8888

Sheriff J.W. claimed to recognize the man driving the boat as his brother-in-law "Billy-bob". Although the man chasing 007 clearly was not. Was ol' J.W. married to a black woman?

  • @WillC I think his name should be Bubba Joe Norris!

  • @ruantengyi I would venture to say an Impala

  • Although I always though this scenes didn't "fitted" in a Bond movie I always loved anyway, is just too damn awesome, and I agree with the other guys on this comment section, the Sheriff J.W. Pepper needed a spin-off show, that would be cool. :P

  • Does any one know what kind of car is Sheriff' Pepper's patrol car?
