Dylan Elise playing his latin solo at Drummers Day in Wellington, New Zealand 2005. Aged 15 1/2 years. Unless you have good speakers, Bass drum not very audible as it was videoed live from a distance.
@MikePostDrums No prob. Ditto to you. And question, do you play drums yourself? If not, it would explain. A lot of people don't realize that the hardest thing to do when playing drums is to come up with a good grove.
@MikePostDrums Im not sure if this will explain if you've seen the 2011 videos and don't understand /watch?v=U6Gl8HSZ4Tc His coordination is super human, and his fill speed is on par with Buddy Rich.
@MikePostDrums Except that's just it, he is one of the world's best drummer's. Maybe not at that level in this video, but in the more recent stuff he's legitimately amazing. Seriously, go listen to that stuff, and then tell me he's not one of the world's best drummer's.
@MikePostDrums As much as i hate to open up the possibility of being trolled, he's right. Have you even looked at some of his newer stuff? And before you ask, yes i do play drums.
@MikePostDrums Oh, ok tough guy. I guess you are afraid of my challenge... but it's understandable because you would lose and you know it. For someone who is clinging to the 70's, it's funny how you think the 80's were so long ago. I worked on Toto's Pamela video in the late 80's...I'm 48. Learn some math dumbass. Btw, Jeff was a helluva nice guy and a very talented drummer...but not astonishing like this kid. But hey, prove me wrong with a vid...not your mouth.
if he mastered the rumba clave in the left foot and be still be able to play salsa with that displaced clave, I would consider him to be the closest to what a perfect drummer could be for latin.
@MikePostDrums Yeah, I'm pretty sure Dylan can figure out how to play the Rosanna shuffle. Porcaro was a legendary session player with a great feel for a tune, but he wasn't all that and a bag of coke. I've seen him play up close and personal when I worked on a Toto video way back when. Tell you what...you find the most amazing Jeff Porcaro video and post it as a video response to any of Dylan's street festival vids and let viewers respond as to who is better. Go ahead critic, take the challenge.

Though, he's still quite amazing.

@tikitortured Oh yeah, and he kicks Porcaros ass while juggling his drum sticks.
