  • The original name of this song is "Two fifty to Vigo". Will be composed by Shooglenifty in a train travel to Vigo in a tour for Galicia.

  • My understanding has always been that the 250 in the title refers to a 250cc motorbike and a road trip to Vigo. Angus was riding pillion on when he first thought up the melody.

Shooglenifty use the title '250 to Vigo' on their website and albums.

  • Have lived with the original for many years, but this is a great version.

Had the good fortune to see the Shoogles play this for real a week ago.

  • Fantastic piece of music, brilliantly put together. Thanks for the upload all that time ago :)

  • BRAVO!!! A good job well done. The orignal was first released on the Shooglenifty album "Venus In Tweeds". Well worth a listen.

  • Pretty sure it is a 2 string instrument called an Ehru, works really well, great arrangement!!

  • I've watched this video several times since I posted my earlier comment. I'm not normally a fan of covers, but this one is exceptional. These men are enormously talented, and the arrangement is brilliant! I give it a standing ovation. By the way, does anyone know what instrument the Asian guy is playing? I don't think I've seen it before. Whatever it is, he's amazing with it.

  • Lunasa have done an awesome version of 250 To Vigo, it's on their Redwood album. Quality

  • I saw Shooglenifty in concert last fall, and I talked to James (the drummer) about this song. He said that the 250 refers to a motorbike. I had thought it was about a train ride, too!

  • Being for Portugal and writing "Galicia"... come on!! Galiza.

  • I´m not 100% sure, but I think that this information is in the first live album. Regards,
