LG Optimus V Hotspot Virgin Mobile

Showing a working Optimus V Hotspot for Virgin Mobile. Very simple. Proof it works with internet speed test on PC and Wii. Yes I can load Netflix but it takes forever and a day cause I have poor connection in my home.

Update 8/24/2011 :
1. Starting Oct 2011 Virgin Mobile announce they will cap data at 2.5 GB . You will still be able to use the data after 2.5GB but they speeds will be throttle to no more then 256kbps. So technically it will still be unlimited data just not full speed after 2.5GB

2. The hot spot works out of the box with LG Optimus V loaded with android 2.2.1 . Some people have been getting an LG Optmus V with android 2.2.2 and the hotspot doesn't work out of the box. You will have to look into rooting your phone to enable it. So which one you will get when purchasing (2.2.1 or 2.2.2) is luck of the draw

@23salazaredgar what version of LG Op V do you have 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 ... if you have 2.2.2 then go to my video for rooting and hotspot. this is for 2.2.1 as per added info under video. the first phones that came out could do this and then they blocked.

@Storm804VA Yes- its a TOS violation, AND? I have a 2.1. This works, I use it. Been doing so for over a year, No issues. With 2.1, you don't void your warranty because you don't have to root your phone to get hotspot. 2.2 has to root their phone. ROOTING voids your warranty. Thats why you UNROOT before you return your phone.

Netbook will connect, depends on what type of hotspot platform you use.

IF I got a 2.2, Optimus V that they are selling now, I would root n wifi hotspot

@RastaDivaxoxo there is no password. READ info under video. this is for software version 2.2.1. if you are not able to connect this way most likely you have software version 2.2.2. see other video posted on how to get it to work. Rooting & Hotspot - Optimus V
