A little place in my backyard that I like to call "The Stag Horn Garden."
WARNING*
Member of the genus Aristolochia are also called birthworts and are occasionally encountered in herbal preparations as a remedy for various ailments as well as to ease the pain of childbirth. They were sometimes used to treat malaria and other diseases. Many Aristolochias contain the alkaloid aristolochic acid and other components. All of these plants are highly toxic, especially to the kidneys. Avoid herbal supplements containing members of this genus. Incorrect doses can cause vomiting, pain and even death.

A. littoralis is classified as a Category II (an invasive exotic that has increased in abundance or frequency but has not yet altered Florida plant communities to the extent shown by Category I species) by the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council. Use caution with this plant in similar climates. The Florida Nurserymen and Growers Association (FNGA) is urging Florida?s nursery and landscape industry professionals to phase out production, sale and use of Aristolochia plant

  • @RamonaFromPomona Hi Ramona...nice to have you here...hope your having a great summer...=)

  • Wow, what a fantastic flower. There are plants which eat flesh (insects). Plants have also a consicousness. They made trials with plants and they recognize things in there direct surroundings. So when they do that they have awareness. Makes me shiver ...

  • @artfantasies I think they are totally aware and they can get to now a persons aura and recognize the one who takes care of them and they will respond with much growth for that person. Unfortunately they must be removed as they are food for a certain butterfly there are so many they all come and lay eggs all day every day that brings so many larva eating that it unfortunately gives no more flowers and the leaves are completely chewed to nothing Lucky I took these pics before the butterflys came
