Oh, Valentine's Day... we meet again. We will exchange chocolate hearts? Flowers? We will sit around feeling nostalgiac about 'the ones that got away'? I guess only time will tell.

Do you keep trinkets from the ghost of romances past? Or do you prefer to purge that stuff and look forward to new experiences? Let me know in the comments.

There's a new JOJCAST (podcast about online video creators) episode up. It's all about YouTube Gatherings and features people like SamProof, QiRanger, ObviouslyBenHughes, RoboFillet, Karpadiem, MGPhenom. Check it out!

  • Whether you have something from them or not, something will remind you of them if they were so memorable... a sound, a look, a place, etc.

You can keep it if it pertains to a happy memory. If it doesn't, you're probably better off without it.

    Happy Valentines Day John. :)

  • Well that's true. And I guess I'm thankful that enough time has passed that not everything reminds me of them... There was a bit of a lead up to Valentines and I found myself remembering good times. Things I had almost forgotten entirely. I guess you should start charging me $75 an hour if I keep talking like this... lol. Ah, therapy. xD

  • Happy Valentines Beautiful I <3 Love ya gutz!

  • Happy Valentines Day Sammi!

Many romantic cliches on the beach to you... lol

  • Well, this video comes at a funny time. Just this morning i went all through my room and got everything given to me by my ex and put in a box, because after being broken up for about a month i thought it was time to take pictures and poems etc off my walls, or just little things like rocks and crap like that and put them somewhere else. i dont think i will destroy them, and i might look at them one day. im not one to throw away things people give me! :)

  • Hey, thanks for the comment. I guess that's the thing... It's often more about the memories than the artifacts themselves. I think putting them away would help. And if you keep them, but put them away, they're still there to reconsider at another time.

  • I am so late coming to this but ... I say put your photos and trinkets where you won't have to look at them and leave them until enough time has passed that you can appreciate them again. OR if you really and truly never want to see the person again, toss whatever they've given you off a bridge, into the ocean, or on a fire. (Why, yes, I can be rather extreme in matters of the heart...)

  • LOL. Great philosophy Sammi!

  • I've done a lot of weird and whacky things in the name of making videos... but I'll tell you what, I don't think I'll put another rose between my teeth. I was worried my mouth would never taste the same again. I brushed my teeth straight after. (This is really killing the romantic moment I was trying to inspire here. But then Rich could probably beat me up... so I'll just keep my distance anyway. lol.)

  • I'm a nostalgic sort...so yes I keep such things. Mostly what I have is just photographs, which I treasure. Sometimes going back through them just helps me wallow in sadness when I am already feeling that way...but as long as its an occasional thing I think that's healthy.

Happy Valentines Day, John. You're the first person ever to approach me with a rose in his mouth. :)

  • Oh hell I remember the ex's so I can avoid making the same mistakes again. LMAO ... but I will walk on the beach with you any time.
