Here's my review of the movie, which has been release a few weeks earlier in Quebec.

Please comment and suscribe if you like what I do.

"The Adventures of Tintin" is the latest action-adventure movie directed by Steven Spielberg (Indiana Jones) based on the classic Herge comics. Jamie Bell stars as the young reporter, looking for the treasure of Red Rackham to help his new friend Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis). On their way, they also meet the sinister Sakharine (Daniel Craig - "James Bond").

The screenplay has been adapted on the big screen by Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) and also Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, Scott Pilgrim) & Joe Cornish (Attack the Block).

It also features the talents of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook, Gad Elmaleh, John Williams, Janusz Kaminski.

  • I remember seeing guns .. lots of it :-) *( Practically every Tintin Comic has guns ! :D ) ....*( and yes it is better than Indianna Jones :-> )

  • @sharadowasdr My problem was that it cut out some of the humour out of it .... Tintin humour is more witty than anything else .... I doubt that'd appeal to American tastes ;-)

  • @sharadowasdr Maybe the sequel will have more humor. The characters and the universe are already established.

  • @sharadowasdr Well I remember some guns here and there, but it was a bit more violent than Hergé (not that I hate violence in movies, but Hergé always said that his stuff was for 7 years old and up).

  • My mother loved those comic books as a kid. No wonder she wanted to see it. And of course, she did.

  • Ok I'll tum it up

  • @sharadowasdr I was just thinking that. Your point makes a ton of sense. I really loved reading the comics growing up, was amazed by the 1990s cartoon and am waiting with baited breath for the film's release.

  • @themoviedoc I think so cuz in the sequel there should be Calculus. In any case he was only introduced into the Tintin Universe in red rakham's treasure. He's the one who invented the submarine which they use to discover the treasure under water. Also with no arch villain in the scene *( I don't recall that comic had a villain figure ) I doubt there'd be too much action involved. Or .. they could twist the plot and involve the Bird brothers in a race for the treasure... and the SS Perie :)

  • Thumb up the jam, thumb it up....
